Uemura Speech at ACCJ Meeting

  CEO Kimikazu Uemura, Board Member of "Forum for East Japan Smart City Project", spoke at an event at ACCJ (American Chamber of Commerce in Japan) together with Hideaki Miyata, former Professor of Tokyo University as Head of the Board. The event was attended by over 50 people.
  The "Forum for East Japan Smart City Project" is a project to aid the rebuilding of Kesen Region (Ofunato City, Rikuzentakata City and Town of Sumita) as a compact, sustainable city while tackling urban issues such as environmental sustainability, super-aging society, regional economic revitalization and disaster control based on a consortium of municipalities, universities and private companies. The project is promoted as the government's model city/region, funded as one of the "Future City Initiative" projects.

  CEO Kimikazu Uemura was appointed commissioner of MLIT "Jizokukanouna Machizukuri Kenkyukai (Study Group for Sustainable City Planning)" on February 22, 2012. The purpose of the study group is to talk on practical means to promote energy conserving and environmentally responsible city planning for a low-carbon emission society.
